Happy #weddingwednesday, Honeys! Wednesday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week, thanks to this series! It is so much more fun knowing that I get to share all of the wedding-related fun we are having with all of you. I am trying not to give too much away (I want there to be plenty of surprises left for you, for Josh, and for anyone attending the wedding!), but it’s so tempting because I am getting SO excited!

Last week, I talked about how important it was to make our wedding Memorable, Meaningful, and Magical (Our Three Ms!). For Josh and me, the priority is creating a day filled with love and laughter – how it all looks and fits together thematically and visually has been very secondary for us as we plan. But that’s not to say we aren’t diving into all the design aspects with smiles!

Today, we wanted to share the vision for our wedding in the form of an inspiration board! I LOVE a good visual aid, and I think boards like this always speak volumes to the event they represent. This was a very diligently curated board, and it took a lot of time and love, along with help from our INCREDIBLE planner, Stephanie (whom you will meet next month!) to narrow it down until it was a truly cohesive illustration of what we imagine our day will be. It certainly inspires us, and it has been wonderful to have a point of reference to circle back to as we wander off into the wide world of wedding decisions. This is where Pinterest does come in handy. 🙂

Bride-to-Bride Tip: My favorite was looking at BHLDN’s pin boards – they are terrifically labeled and sorted by theme, feeling and imagery, which I loved because, as I sifted through them, I was able to put names to things I liked and didn’t like. My initial board for our actual wedding was just BHLDN pins!

If you notice, most of the images on our board are pretty abstract, and several aren’t even wedding-related! We were looking to evoke feelings with this board – not use it as a to-do list for DIY decor or a how-to guide for decorating. (Not that there is anything wrong with creating those – this was just not the function of this board!) What we wanted was something that inspired adjectives that we hoped our day would be described with, and that’s how we landed on the board you see below!

Sigh. I never tire of looking at it! We cannot wait to show you all of the results of this board…in January, when our film scans have come back from our beloved photogs, Shay and Drew, and we have a chance to sit down and share them with you! 😉
